Beggshill Bothy

Built in the 1920's as a farm labourer's cottage, Beggshill Bothy was completely refurbished by the previous owners in 2006 to create a simple, cosy retreat away from hectic day to day living.

Situated in a peaceful glen just a few miles from the busy A96 running from Aberdeen to Inverness, Beggshill Bothy is a one bedroom holiday cottage adjacent to the owner’s house at Little Beggshill. The whole site extends to approximately 3 acres, which includes an area of woodland and our secure dog paddock, both of which you are welcome to enjoy. Whilst the Bothy is adjacent to our own property, we value our privacy as much as yours so you will be completely left to your own devices unless of course you need anything!

We are surrounded by wildlife; watch the deer graze in the clearing opposite, sit back and listen to the birds, or see if you can spot the hare frolicking by the lane. The owl can be heard most nights, and pheasants are frequently attempting suicide on the lane! Without any light pollution, the night sky is truly beautiful. Whilst we've been told the Northern Lights can be seen from here, as yet we haven't been lucky enough to spot them - maybe you will!

Dog Friendly Accommodation

Dogs are very welcome to holiday with their humans at Beggshill Bothy. Whilst all dogs MUST be kept on leads immediately outside the Bothy (without exception) the secure Dog Paddock is available for you to use. We do not place restrictions on the number of dogs you can bring, but we do ask that you treat the property with respect as you would your own home.

A selection of sofa sacks from Jacob's Den and old towels are available for you to use. We trust you to know your own dogs, and if appropriate they may be left unattended for short periods. We just ask that you let us know if they are home alone. Alternatively we can recommend local doggy day care if that is more appropriate for your furry friends.

We have five dogs of our own, and have fostered hounds from Give a Greyhound a Home. Two of our hounds can be reactive with other breeds, and whilst they are always on leads unless in the paddock we kindly ask that you give them space. Our dogs are always on leads unless running in the paddock.
